JNU Cancels Umar Khalid Book Discussion Over 'Non-Disclosure

Censorship by Stealth: The JNU Cancellation Controversy The Jawaharlal Nehru University's decision to cancel a student organised discussion on Umar Khalid's book, Fractured Communities: Adivasi Histories and the Politics of Power, has raised more questions than answers about the university's commitment to academic freedom.

The event was scheduled for August 10 at the School of Social Sciences I auditorium but was cancelled after the university claimed it had not received "full facts" about the programme.

The university stated on its official X handle that the booking had been cancelled because the organisers failed to disclose certain information about the event, although they refused to specify what exactly was missing from the application.
