A study published in Bioresource Technology found that a probiotic bacterium isolated from kimchi was able to bind tightly to nanoplastics, even under conditions mimicking the human intestine.
The bacterium showed an impressive adsorption efficiency of 87% in lab tests, outperforming a reference strain in many areas.
